Pulak Sanpui’s major source of inspiration is nature. He particularly focuses on the prevalent flora and fauna of any place and depicts that in his work. There is a tinge of exaggeration and drama in his work and he likes to unsettle the viewers by placing a mix of the flora and fauna from various regions sometimes local sometimes alien. The artist states “My works looks free, spontaneous and vibrant on the surface but beneath this glitter lies my strong conviction to challenge my own notions of art and self-expression.” He works in various mediums like oil, acrylic and watercolours. He is also the visiting faculty at the Navrachna University, Baroda. The artist currently lives and works in Baroda. ;
