Haku Shah

An artist born in 1934, Vadodara, Haku Shah was a disciple of the Baroda School. Known best as being a Gandhian, a cultural anthropologist and an avid supporter of tribal art, he also brought these themes of tribal art to Indian art. He also established a tribal museum in Ahmedabad. His works are mostly figurative and expressive of the spiritual environment that had major influences on Shah’s life and art. Works include ‘Krishna with cow,’ ‘Holi’ and ‘Flute Player.’ ;
