Sivanesan was born in Madras, South India, now Chennai in 1940. He graduated from the Madras Government College of Arts and Crafts in 1956. His works represent the artists personal predications and moods rather than attempting to make a profound statement to the viewer. Humans are his central theme while deeply appreciating the beauty he sees within them. His works are figurative in style and subtle in colours. He won the International Inter Church award in New York in 1962. He has exhibited widely in India as well as abroad such as Bangkok, Los Angeles, Canada and the USA. He works in New Delhi, Mumbai and Madras.
