Born in Punjab in 1944 and spent most of her youth in the former British summer capital of Shimla. A woman of sheer resilience Anupam Sud valiantly pursues artistic inclinations, surpassing the established norms. She went on to study art in Delhi and become the youngest member of “Group 8,” an association dedicated to furthering an awareness of print making in India. Sud’s etchings are made with the use of zinc plates, depicting interrelations between sexes through symbolism and metaphor, a recurrent theme in her works. Her best known series was the ‘Dialogue Series’ that emphasizes on human togetherness through a non-verbal and intimate medium.
Anupam Sud lives and works in Mandi, a small community on the outskirts of New Delhi.
