All three volumes are of hardcover with a dull teal buckram covering. The cover has a logo printed in gold foil along with the name ‘English and Foreign Philosophical Library.’ The title, author and Volume number are lettered in gold on the spine of each book.

Volume 1 begins with the history of Philosophy and continues to topics that show its relation to other departments of knowledge. Also included are chapters on Chinese and Indian philosophy.

Volume 2 begins with a section on Greek Philosophy, Plato and Aristotle.

Volume 3 has sections on the Philosophy of the Middle Ages. Also includes sections on Arabian Philosophy, Revival of Sciences, Modern Philosophy and the Transition period, which covers Scottish, French and German Philosophies.
