Leonard Simon Nimoy (1931-2015) was best known for his role as ‘Spock’, a central character of the Star Trek franchise. His portrayal as ‘Spock’ was an ongoing affair, which commenced with the pilot episode which was shot in 1964. Among Spock's recognized and unique symbols, Leonard Nimoy incorporated the much recognized Vulcan salute, he created the sign from his childhood memories in tandem with the manner Jewish priests hold their hand while giving blessings.
