Born on 3rd of August, 1926 in Queens Tony Bennet is an American singer who truly embodies the Great American Story. He was a World War II veteran and soon thereafter developed a career in music spanning over half a century. Tony Bennet grew up listening to the radio and got inspired by musicians like Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong and James Durante. His big break came in the year 1949 when the comedian Bob Hope noticed him. Bob Hope offered Bennet to come and sing with him and gave him his stage name ‘Tony Bennet’ based on his full name Anthony Dominick Benedetto.
