Nataraj Sharma was born in Karnataka and studied at the M.S.U. Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda. His solo exhibitions include ones at Bodhi Art, New York, 2007 and Bose Pacia Gallery, New York, 2005. A select listing of his group exhibitions includes: Saffronart and Apparao Gallery, Los Angeles, 2001; Edge of Desire: Recent Art in India Co-presented in New York by Asia Society and Queens Museum of Art, 2005; "Indian Summer", Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 2005; and the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. He was awarded the Sotheby`s Prize for Contemporary Indian Art in the year 2000. Sharma presently lives and works in Baroda.
