Antao was born in 1966 in Mumbai. He completed his Bachelors in Fine Arts from Sir J.J. School of Applies Arts in 1991. His sculptures are massive charged with emotions. His sculptures convey myriad human emotions with visual impacts. He has received the Indian Habitat Award for the Best Solo Show in 2005, the Bendre-Husain Award in 1995 and the Bombay Art Society Award in 1993. He also received a silver medal for his artworks from the Government of Maharashtra. His most recent exhibition was held at the Gallery Espace in 2010, New Delhi. He has exhibited widely both in India as well as abroad.
