Four sheets are joined together to form the map. The Map has a decorative border of twenty vignettes, all depicting various scenes from around Asia. There is a brief description with each vignettes in Both French and Spanish. The map was published by Louis Joseph Mondhare. The map states that Clouet was a member of the " Academie Royale des Sciences de Rouen". The Académie des Sciences, Belles-Lettres et Arts de Rouen was created in the City of Rouen, in France, by order of Louis XV in 1744 and existed until 1793. It was briefly suppressed during the Republican era, and then re-established in 1803. This map is considered to be one of the most decorative wall maps created of Asia during the second half of the 18th century.

This lot is over one hundred years old or National Art Treasure, cannot be exported out of India as per Antiques and Art Treasures Act, 1972.
