Radhakrishnan was born in February 1956 in Kuzhimattom, Kottayam, Kerala, India. He was inspired by his uncle to take up painting in 1970. After completing pre-degree courses in Changanacherry he joined the Kala Bhavan Vishwabharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal in 1974. In 1979 he received a BFA from Viswhabharati Univeristy and participated in his first exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, India. Critics usually comment on the immediacy of his sculptures. His figures are robust with ritual dances and performances while touching upon Hindu mythology. Life-sized sculptures in the outdoors evoke a superhuman atmosphere. He has experimented with various mediums such as bronze, beeswax and plaster of Paris. His sculptures are a product of a tangible rendezvous with his medium. His works have been exhibited globally. He lives and works in Kolkata.
