Bimal Das Gupta was deeply influenced by the Bengal school of art.He was one of the first artists to use landscapes in abstract form. His best quality however remains the use of colours be it water colours or oil on canvas. The combinations of colours used provide such an effect the viewer that they leave him flabbergasted. Oceans has been one of his endless source of fascination which he has depicted many a times in surrealistic and abstract forms.
