KOLKATA: A painting by FN Souza fetched a whopping Rs 1.19 crore ($167,750) at the AstaGuru 's auction held last week while artworks by HA Gade and Paritosh Sen fetched the highest price ever for their works.

Souza's, one of India's most distinguished modernists and a member of the Progressive Artists' Group work titled ‘ Fan Dancer ', an oil on canvas from 1962 achieved the highest sales.
