Calcutta-raised, Akhil Chandra Das was born in 1968, an Indian sculptor whose work is defined by a profound engagement with the human condition, expressed through masterfully modelled forms. He completed his Bachelor of Visual Arts from the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta, in 1991, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 1993.
