Amitesh Verma
Born in 1976, Amitesh Verma completed his BFA in painting from the College of Art, New Delhi in 2002 He held his first solo show in 2002 at Visual art gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi
Known among many for his portrayal of horses, Amitesh Verma has made a niche for himself through the intricate drawings that invoke emotions like compassion, love and motherhood His detailed portrayal of animal and human anatomy is inspired by the divinity in earthly and astral forms
He studied horses are racecourses and horse clubs, which allowed him to understand their various moods and portray them with great detail in his works Some of his horses therefore, seem to display a plethora of emotions such as joy and sadness While some horses seem to enjoy the company of their family, others seem to be taken over by a spiritual force that lend a majestic aura to their elegant form
He has also worked in charcoal using motifs from European culture to portray human forms, churches, and animal figures
Amitesh Verma has participated in a number of group shows and solo show some of which are ‘Stallion search’- a Solo show , gallery Ragini held at Jahangir art Gallery, Mumbai, 2008, “Born Blessed”: Drawings & Paintings at Travancore Art Gallery among others
He lives and works in Delhi
