Anju Badhwar, also known as Anju Badhwar Vora, is a US-based artist of Indian origin whose work explores the intersection of the human psyche, collective consciousness, and spiritual energy through a distinctive, self-taught visual language. A self-taught painter, she has been creating art for over 25 years, developing a personal yet universal visual vocabulary that bridges the mysterious and the apparent. Early in her career, she received India's highest honour for visual arts, the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 1981, at the age of 19, marking her as a significant emerging talent in Indian contemporary art.

Her work delves into the network of the human mind and its connection to a collective subconscious, where individual identities overlap and merge. Her paintings often convey the tension between inner psychological states and external pressures, manifesting as solid blocks of intense, sometimes violent, egoistic outbursts. Her work has also been featured in politically themed exhibitions, such as People in Progress, where her large canvas depicting an eye was displayed alongside S.H. Raza's Bindu series, conveying messages about societal change and vision.

Now based in the United States, she continues to paint, maintaining her focus on the mystical and psychological dimensions of human experience.
