Anuj Kumar Poddar
Anuj Kumar Poddar, born in 1967 in Bokaro, Jharkhand, is an Indian artist and glass specialist who graduated in Painting from MS University, Vadodara, in 1993. He has been working in the field of art for over 35 years, with a particular focus on glass applications, sculpture, and public art installations.
After completing his formal training, Poddar worked as a glass designer at Glasstones Mehtaab Engineering and Kamal/Surya glass factory in Makarpura, Vadodara, and later at Glassage in Surat. His expertise in glass has led him to serve as visiting faculty teaching glass applications at IED Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. Since 2018, he has also been serving as an art consultant for the South Delhi Municipal Corporation.
Poddar has participated in numerous national-level group exhibitions and workshops, including the Waste To Art Sculpture Workshop in Ujjain (2018), the International Painting and Sculpture Workshop in Goa (2017), and the Sculpture Symposium and Spirit of Baroda Part 2 at Akota Stadium, Baroda. His public art projects include Bharat Darshan Park in Punjabi Bagh, Delhi (2021), Shahidi Park, and Pragati Park. He has exhibited widely across India at venues such as Art-Mart in Khajuraho, The Baroda March at Coomaraswami Hall in Mumbai, Wat-R-Colour at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Vadodara (2016), Rhythm and Blue at Gallery Sanskriti in Kolkata (2017), and Narrative, a Glass and Ceramic Show at Splatter Studio in Vadodara (2021). His work has also been shown internationally in Palo Alto, USA.
Currently, Poddar serves as a senior art advisor for Synapse International Art and PUBLICARTS, where he contributes his extensive experience in public art and sculpture to large-scale community projects.
