Archana Sharma
Archana Sharma, born in 1965, is an Indian artist whose practice encompasses both painting and sculpture, exploring figurative and abstract styles with a distinctive blend of traditional and contemporary influences. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

Archana Sharma works with a variety of materials including acrylic on canvas and bronze for her sculptural pieces. Her paintings often feature vibrant colors and dynamic compositions, while her sculptures are created using techniques such as wax mold casting. She has also experimented with hand-painted fabrics, using materials like organza and china silk, demonstrating versatility in her artistic expression. Her work frequently draws inspiration from cultural and religious themes, reflecting a deep engagement with Indian mythology and iconography.

Since the early 1990s, Archana Sharma has exhibited extensively across India and internationally. Her exhibition history includes a group exhibition in Sweden in 1992, followed by solo shows at prestigious venues such as Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai (1993, 2003, 2014), Leela Kempenski Art Gallery in Mumbai (1996, 1997, 2001), Triveni Art Gallery in Delhi (1998), and Art Konsult in New Delhi (2000). She has participated multiple times in the Harmony Show in Mumbai (1997, 1999, 2005) and took part in the International Handicraft and Gift Fair in New Delhi in 2003. In 2014, she also exhibited in a group show organized by the Bombay Art Society.

Through her diverse use of mediums and techniques, Archana Sharma continues to develop a distinctive voice in her art, engaging with both form and narrative in her creations.
