Arunkumar was born in the year 1968 in Karnataka He did his Bachelors and Master degree in Fine Art, specializing in sculpture, from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University of Baroda His saculptures and prints identify the troubled relationships between nature and humans His susceptibility towards the neo-pop movement is more than evident in his usage of readymade objects such as toys, plastic, cow dung, ceramic, hay and TV monitors It would not be an exaggeration to say that his works sometimes are very simple yet they convey a message which is far more intricate and complex which stands in stark contrast to its outward appearanceSome of his previous works include photographs, and inflatable sculptures made of canvas, latex, synthetic fur, rubber, foam and fibreglass His solo shows include ‘Feed’ at Nature Morte, New Delhi and Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai, 2006; ‘Inflatable works’ at Nature Morte, New Delhi, 2001; and Studio Gallery, Garhi Artist Studio, New Delhi, 1997 Arunkumar is also an active member of Khoj Artist Collective, a contemporary art organisation that facilitates international art dialogue and artist exchange, and has completed residences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, in 2005, and the University of South Australia, Adelaide, in 2007 Kumar works with a team of 50 others and entrepreneur Rahul Bhatia at his unit in Gurgaon
