Atmaja Manidas, born in 1974 in Kerala, is a contemporary Indian artist known for her vibrant, figurative acrylic paintings that blend elements of fantasy, narrative, and social observation. She is the younger sister of acclaimed Malayalam actress and theatre artist Abhija Sivakala.

Atmaja Manidas works primarily in acrylic on canvas, creating richly colored compositions populated by animated beings, whimsical characters, and scenes drawn from both art historical references and everyday life. Her paintings often feature fantastical landscapes, playful creatures, and layered storytelling that merge the sacred and the profane, the mythological and the mundane. Her unique visual language reflects a deep engagement with Indian artistic traditions while maintaining a distinctly contemporary sensibility.

In addition to her practice as a painter, Atmaja Manidas has also worked as an actress, appearing in Malayalam cinema and theatre productions. Her multidisciplinary background informs her artistic approach, bringing a performative and narrative quality to her visual work.

Atmaja Manidas has exhibited her work in group and solo shows across India.
