Ayaz Jokhio, born in 1978 in Mehrabpur, Sindh, Pakistan, is a contemporary Pakistani artist known for his intellectually rigorous and conceptually diverse practice that spans painting, drawing, installation, kinetic sculpture, and digital media. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with distinction from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2001, and later completed a Master's in Art Education from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, in 2018. He lives and works between Lahore and Mehrabpur, Sindh.

Ayaz Jokhio's work is characterized by a critical engagement with the superabundance of imagery in contemporary visual culture. He often draws or paints images sourced from the public domain, including news photographs and encyclopedic pictures, examining how these images belong to genres that compensate for the speed with which they are consumed. His practice frequently incorporates dry humor and an amalgamation of imagery from print media, electronic media, the internet, and popular culture, alongside his own observations of contemporary Pakistan. He employs diverse techniques ranging from traditional painting to digitally created images, installations, and kinetic sculptures.

One of Ayaz Jokhio's most distinctive techniques is his "Dust on Canvas" method, an incredibly labor-intensive process in which he cuts stencils, places them on a horizontally positioned canvas, applies a fixative, and allows dust to settle over months to form images. Different shades are achieved by controlling the accumulation of dust in various areas. This technique reflects his interest in patience, time, and the unseen processes of image formation.

Ayaz Jokhio has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Pakistan and internationally. His work has been featured at the Devi Art Foundation, Canvas Gallery, Taseer Art Gallery, and the Karachi Biennale. He has participated in international exhibitions including Signs Taken for Wonders at AICON Contemporary in New York and Step Across this Line at Asia House in London. He has been an artist-in-residence at Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany (2004-2005), as well as in Switzerland and Japan.

In addition to his artistic practice, Ayaz Jokhio teaches at the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design at Beaconhouse National University in Lahore. He was also chosen as the best contemporary poet by the Sindhi Literary Society in 1999 and directed a short film that was selected for the 4th Kara Film Festival in Karachi in 2004.
