Manjunath Kamath was born in 1972 in Mangalore, Karnataka He received his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts, Mysore, Karnataka He draws the viewer’s attention to the palpable in his varied use of painting, drawing, sculpture and video With varied genres he creates narratives that are gripping in content but composed from commonplace elements His solo shows include Collective Nouns, Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai, 2011; Conscious-subconscious at Gallery Espace, 2010; 108 Small Stories, Gallery Espace, New Delhi 2007 and About Something, Sridharani Art Gallery, New Delhi in 1996 Some of his recent shows include LOVE is a four letter word, Latitude 28, 2011, Kiran Nadar Musuem, New Delhi in 2011 and New Focus, Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai in 2011 Kamath was the recipient of the Charles Wallace Scholarship and was a resident artist at the School of Art & Design, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, UK in 2002 Kamath lives and works in New Delhi
