Vithal was born in Maharashtra in 1935 He completed his bachelors from Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai where trained to be a painter and sculptor His compositions like many of his contemporaries at the time centre on the volatility of the human as well animal forms He was married to fellow artist B Prabha in 1956, whose works resemble those of her husband’s human forms He works canvasses as well as sculptures of the animal forms His themes have a wide range from humans and animals incorporated with elements from his locale in Maharashtra Vithal lived and passed away in Mumbai, 1992
