Babu Eshwar Prasad
He was born in the year 1968 in Karnataka After completing his Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in painting from the College of Fine Arts, Bangalore in 1989 he went on to do his Master's degree in printmaking from the Fine Arts Faculty of the MS University, Baroda in 1992 In 1989-91 he won the National Scholarship, Ministry of Human Resources and Development and worked under the supervision of the eminent artist K Laxma Goud, whilst at Baroda Some art critics have labeled his mostly landscape paintings as “mystical and surreal pictures psychoscapes, or landscapes that have been touched and moulded by the inner self and the alternative reality of dreams” Often turning to the picture within a picture format, Prasad creates situations that are twisted away from the familiar, but yet not as far away as to be totally unrecognizable Babu Eshwar Prasad has participated in several group shows, including 7 of the Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy's annual shows from 1987 to 1993, four National Exhibitions in New Delhi from 1988 to 1991, two all India exhibitions at the Chitra Kala Parishath in Bangalore, the 1988 AIFACS Exhibition in New Delhi, the 1990 all India Drawing and Graphics Exhibition in Gulbarga and the 1993 Prints Today show at the Bangalore Alliance FrancaiseAfter completing his Bachelors in Fine Arts from JNTU, Hyderabad He has received the Mahatma Gandhi Birth Centenary Memorial Award for the year 2000 from Victoria Technical Institute, Chennai Ramesh Gorjala mostly paints Indian mythological figures and themes with a lot of detail and sensitivity For Gorjala, myth seems to be unfolding into never-ending narratives and culminates into the forms of hindu deities and gods who are more often than not symbolic of protection and heroism He has been awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Birth Centenary Memorial Award for the year 2000 from Victoria Technical Institute (VTI) Chennai
