Bari Kumar, born in 1966 and based in the Los Angeles city since his early years, studied at the Rishi Valley School of J Krishnamurti He moved to LA for studying graphic design at Otis/Parsons School of Design Among his other selected solo exhibitions are ‘In Absentia’, by Bombay Art Gallery and Nature Morte, New Delhi (2006); ‘Brown Is the New Black’, Billy Shire Fine Arts, Los Angeles, CA (2005); ‘Export Quality’, Bose Pacia Gallery, Chelsea, NY (2004); ‘Neither Here Nor There’, Patricia Correia Gallery, Santa Monica, CA (2002), and ‘Personal Inventory’, Patricia Correia Gallery, Santa Monica (2000) ‘Foreign Bodies’, a recent series of his work, was recently hosted at Bose Pacia, Kolkata His work also featured at the latest edition of Art Dubai Bari Kumar’s work is a reflection of his bicultural experiences, and affinity to two diverse cultures that influence and inform his work
