Barun Chowdhury
Barun Chowdhury studied painting at The Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata University He completed the MFA in Graphics from the MS University of Baroda in 1996 He has participated in the 2007 Watercolour camp, a meeting of Indian and British Artists in Aurangabad organized jointly by the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) and the Institute of Contemporary Indian Art (ICSA) His works feature in several collections in India and internationally such as Ecole De Beaux, Sylvain Richard (Paris), Kanagowa Prefectural Art Gallery (Japan), RPG and ICIA collection The artist is particularly known for his mastery over printmaking He has worked at both the Glasgow and London Print Studios in the UK on a scholarship from the Charles Wallace India Trust in 2003 His works, complex and wry, are a curious mixture of ancient Indian painting tradition with allusions to classical and contemporary Western art Barun Chowdhury lives and works in Ahmedabad
