Entang Wiharso was born in 1967 in Tegal, Indonesia and went on to study painting at Indonesian Institute of Arts, Yogyakarta His art speaks of the human condition and socio-political situation of Indonesia His unique and provocative works in paintings, sculptures, installations and performance,  are an amalgamation of literature, culture and events of his two hometowns - Indonesia and the US, where he is based Wiharso has participated in various solo exhibitions globally including at Marc Straus, New York; Bernier/Aliedes, Athens; Tang Contemporary, Art Bangkok and Pearl Lam Galleries, Shanghai among others He was also the youngest artist to be invited to conduct a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Indonesia
