Born in 1975, Gurdeep Singh has developed an abstract visual language that is both intellectually rigorous and immensely intuitive. His paintings are driven by an ongoing inquiry into the unseen forces that shape human experience, drawing together ideas from spirituality, philosophy and scientific thought. Rather than offering fixed meanings, his compositions invite contemplation, encouraging viewers to engage with questions of perception, existence and the nature of consciousness.

Singh received his formal training in painting at the Government College of Art, Chandigarh, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, before completing a Master of Fine Arts at the College of Art, New Delhi. This academic foundation, coupled with years of independent exploration, has shaped a practice that is distinguished by its conceptual depth and painterly confidence.

Working through richly layered surfaces and luminous fields of colour, Singh constructs compositions that oscillate between structure and spontaneity. His abstractions are animated by rhythmic gestures, shifting forms and carefully balanced chromatic relationships, creating spaces that are at once energetic and contemplative. The resulting works transcend pure formalism, serving instead as meditations on transformation, duality and the interconnectedness of the material and metaphysical worlds.
