Gurusiddappa was born in 1976 in Chitradurga, Karnataka He completed his Bachelor’s degree in painting from the College of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitra Parishath, Bangalore in 1997 He received his Master’s degree in the same from the Faculty of Fine Arts at MS University, Baroda in 2000 His works are fantastical in theme, bordering on surrealist concepts He uses dark backgrounds to bring to the foreground the central subjects in his works, usually animals His solo shows include The First Rain after a Long Summer, Gallery Samukha, Bangalore 2007 Recent Paintings was held at Sakshi Gallery in 2005 and numerous others around the subcontinent He also participated in numerous group shows like Verbal Passage at Easel Art Gallery, Chennai, 2002 and Group Norm at Venkatappa Art Gallery, Bangalore on 1996 He was awarded the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi; New Delhi in 2004and won the Camlin Art Foundation’s Euro Art Tour in 2003 He lives and works in
