Karan Khanna
Born in 1956, Karan Khanna is an acclaimed Indian photographer whose practice has been shaped by both artistic legacy and personal vision. He is the son of celebrated modern artist Krishen Khanna, and from an early age was immersed in an environment that nurtured creativity and visual expression. A defining moment in his career came when he accompanied the legendary French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson on a photography assignment in Chandni Chowk, New Delhi. The experience left a lasting impression, inspiring Khanna to pursue photography not merely as a profession but as a lifelong artistic pursuit.

Khanna began his professional career in advertising, but in 1985, he left the advertising industry to dedicate himself entirely to photography, allowing him to explore the medium with greater creative freedom and depth. His work has evolved in tandem with advancements in photographic technology, which he has embraced to develop a unique visual language.

His photographs have been exhibited widely in India and internationally, including notable solo exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in 2009. His work has earned recognition for its originality and thoughtful engagement with the medium, and is represented in numerous private collections in India and abroad.
