Born in 1989 in Orissa, Karuna Priya Pui is a contemporary artist who completed her BFA from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar Her major inspirations lie in nature, traditional Indian art and the style of Gustav Klimt Her influences can be seen in her lively compositions which feature ornate decoration, animals, birds, men and women Her paintings showcase her penchant for the interplay of light and shadow, along with colour and recurringly feature women at the centre These whimsical works are impressive and evoke a sense of passion and romance

She has taken in part in several exhibitions across the country including a solo show at Lalit Kala Akademi in 2022
