Kriti Arora
Born in 1972, in New Delhi, Kriti Arora is a sculptor, photographer, and painter She completed her BFA (Sculpture) at MS University, Baroda, Film, and photography at Hampshire College, Amherst, USA, and MFA at the University of Massachusetts

Through her work, she depicts people who often get displaced due to various political, social, seeking labour, war, geographical reasons, and sometimes out of choice In her installations like 'Tools and Boots' and 'Tar Man 6', the artist explores the labour occupation by showcasing black shovels, pick-axes, and gloves coated with thick tar; drenched in tar, the fibres are not functional; showcasing the inseparable nature of men and their labour Her other works including 'Black Muse I' and 'Black Muse 11' were received well by the admirers

Kriti's sculptures, paintings, and photographs have been exhibited in India and abroad The artist was awarded a residency in France by the French Embassy in India Her artwork was selected for the Busan Biennial in South Korea (2002) She also held classes at the Sculpture Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Baroda, and at the Art Department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA

The artist continues to work and lives in New Delhi
