Lakshman Rao Kotturu is an Indian contemporary sculptor known for creating works inspired by nature and everyday life. Born in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, in 2013, followed by a Master of Visual Arts in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, in 2015.

Growing up amidst the rivers, beaches and forests of the coastal town of Srikakulam profoundly shaped Kotturu's artistic vision. His sculptures draw inspiration from the forms of the natural world, exploring the interconnectedness of humans and their environment through an organic and intuitive visual language. For Kotturu, the choice of material is intrinsic to the concept itself; each work evolves through a careful dialogue between idea and medium, allowing the inherent qualities of the material to become an integral part of the narrative.

Known for his distinctive sculptural vocabulary, Kotturu often combines dynamic forms with vibrant colour and subtle references to Indian cultural traditions. His works reflect personal experiences while engaging with broader themes of identity, ecology and the human condition, creating sculptures that are both contemplative and visually compelling.

His work has been exhibited at leading contemporary art spaces, including Chandra Ilango Visual Art Foundation, Chennai, and Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai. Presently, he lives and works in his hometown of Srikakulam, where the surrounding landscape continues to inspire his evolving sculptural practice.
