Nantu Behari Das was born in Kolkata in 1977 He received his Master’s in Visual Arts from the Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata He was discovered and mentored by artist Jogen Chowdhury His sculptures take on hard objects which are then rendered as soft seeming sculptures portraying the dichotomies in nature He embraces the opposites, humans and nature; the perils of balancing biology and technology; the combination of ancient forms with modern techniques He has exhibited extensively around Kolkata and is reaching out the rest of India
