Born in 1980 the artist hails from a family of sculptors and painters He completed his formal education in art from MS U in Baroda Introspective in nature, he ponders vastly into the human psychology, his preferred medium is that of glass which symbolizes clarity, purity and fragility and are also astounding traits of human nature His works are conceptualized to render a three dimensional effect and are constructed by implanting multiple layers of glass The process is tedious wherein he individually paints each layer of glass which interconnects to project the final imagery His creations although may appear to be sculptures, is in reality an amalgamated painting on glass which comes to life in a 3D perspective when illuminated The image of a skull with its cerebral highlighted gives us an insight into the artist’s intellectual delving His work essentially explores the vulnerability of human relationships and the naivety of the human being He chronicles the challenges we face in order to reign our own mind, ego and emotions In his works he sub divides human relationships, labeling them and highlighting their various factors of pros & consHe has adopted various initiatives to empower children and enhance the educational infrastructure in rural areas Through his work he intends to cast a spell of mystery and labyrinth like effect upon the viewer He has participated in various group shows, to name a few Embodied Group Show, Gallery Art and Soul in 2007; Disproportionately Accurate or Accurately Disproportionate Group Show, Jahangir Art Gallery in 2006 & Are we like this only group show, Vadehra Art Gallery in 2005 In the year 2005 he was the recipient of the Inlaks Fine Art Award & in 2007 he won the Harmony Show Award Nilesh Kumavat lives and works in Baroda
