Pandit Khairnar is an Indian artist who was born in 1968 in Nashik, Maharashtra In 1989 he completed a diploma in Art Teaching from Y K M, Aurangabad He also got a diploma in Fine Art from LS Raheja School of Art, Mumbai in 1992 Khairnar has received several awards including the Annual Exhibition Award from YKM, Aurangabad in 1989 In 1991 he received The Bombay Art Society Award at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai In 1992 he won the LS Raheja School of Art Annual Exhibition Award and the Maharashtra State Art award In 1992 and 2004 he won The Bombay Art Society, Mumbai Also in 1992, he won an award from the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur The peace and tranquillity of his birthplace have always been a constant source of inspiration for him The artist claims that “The city has art in its air Its serene beauty and peaceful environment give me pleasure while painting” He is one of the foremost colour field painters of India Over the years he has had several exhibitions including 'Mate - Stone' Artist Centre, Mumbai, 1992, 50 years of Art in Mumbai 1947 – 1997’, National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) Mumbai in 1997 and 'Point and Line to Plane VI', Gallery Beyond, Mumbai in 2008 to name a few After working in Mumbai for about 25 years the artist chose the comfort of his native place and moved back to Nasik in 2013
