For Pankaj Kumar Singh, nature is not merely a subject to be observed but a living force that shapes memory, time, and existence. His paintings emerge from an engagement with the organic world, translating its forms, textures, and cycles of transformation into contemplative abstract compositions. Through layered surfaces and material experimentation, Singh creates works that reflect the quiet yet constant evolution of life.

Born in 1985 in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, into a farming family, Singh spent his formative years surrounded by the rural landscape, an experience that continues to inform his artistic practice. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in 2008 and his Master of Fine Arts in 2013 from the Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

Following his postgraduate studies, Singh spent time in Baroda, where interactions with senior artists encouraged him to view painting as a process of self-discovery. This marked a significant shift in his practice, leading him to explore nature not simply as a visual motif but as a metaphor for growth, decay and renewal.

Singh has presented solo exhibitions at Dhoomimal Art Centre, New Delhi, Shridharani Gallery, New Delhi, and Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow, while his works have featured in major exhibitions including the India Art Fair, Affordable Art Fair and the National Exhibition of Lalit Kala Akademi. He is the recipient of the 2023 National Award from Lalit Kala Akademi, the Kalanand Art Contest Award from the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation, and the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture. He lives and works in New Delhi.
