Pors and Rao are an artist duo based out of Bangalore since 2004 The duo first met each other in Italy and have worked together since their research scholarship in Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, Italy in 2002 Søren Pors was born in Esbjerg, Denmark in 1974 and Aparna Rao was born in Bangalore in 1978 The duo majorly create sculptural artwork and focus on creating work that is interactive They both initially started their career off by experimenting with computer simulations before abandoning it to engage with physical objects They have been the recipient of several grants such as Artphilein Foundation, Lugano, Switzerland in 2012, The Shuttleworth Foundation, Durbanville, South Africa in 2014, Radhika Chopra and Rajan Anandan, Delhi in 2014 and the Danish Arts Foundation, Copenhagen, Denmark in 2015They have had several solo exhibitions including ‘Applied Fiction’ at Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi and CAB-Centro De Arte Contemporaneo, De Caja De Burgos, Burgos, Spain in 2011 and ‘Pors and Rao’ at Hilger Contemporary, Hilger Next, Vienna in 2013 In the Art Basel, Hong Kong 2018 the duo was represented by Gallery SKE and drew a large crowd because of their highly relevant installations which strove to involve the viewer as much as possible
