Qin Xiong
Niyeti Chadha was born in 1979 in Dehradun She finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from Government College of Art, Chandigarh She did her MFA in Printmaking from MS University, Baroda Her work deals with the concept of binaries She often focuses on the transient nature of urban spaces They are abstract in the sense that instead of depicting a particular architectural space it deals with the experience of interacting with a particular landscape The ‘three dimensional spaces are abstracted into two-dimensional images’ She has been the recipient of several scholarships like the Junior Research Fellowship by UGC, India in 2003, INLAKS Fine Art Award, Inlaks Foundation, India in 2005, Manhattan Graphics Centre, New York in 2006 and School of Visual Art, New York in 2010 Her solo exhibitions include Weaving Shards, Gallery Latitude 28, New Delhi, India 2016; Drawing Notes, Studio X, in collaboration with Latitude 28, Mumbai, India, 2015; ‘A Script for a Landscape’ at the Queens Museum of Art, New York in 2011; Recent Drawings- Art Konsult, New Delhi, India (2008); Recent Drawings - Gallery Beyond, Mumbai, India (2007); Exhibition of Drawings at Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi, India (2005) The artist keeps moving between India and New York
