Rajendra Dhawan
Rajendra was born in 1936 in New Delhi, India He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts from 1953 to 1958 In 1960 he founded he Group Unknown which exhibited their works in 1960 and 1964 He also taught painting in India until 1962 He received a grant to travel to Yugoslavia until 1966 In 1970 he moved to Paris Working mainly in oil, nearly all his canvasses are subtle and poetical He painted according to his intuition rather than what he saw His themes included space, air and other occult objects His works can be seen in several public collections such as The Glenbarra Museum in Japan, The National Foundation of Contemporary Art, Paris, Teruss Museum in Elne, Rigault Museum in Perpignan and the Fond National d’Art contemporarin convent Saint-Jacques in Paris He has also exhibited widely within the Indian subcontinent Rajendra lives and works in New Delhi
