Ram Bali Chauhan, born in 1976, did his Bachelor of Fine Arts (Sculpture) and Master of Fine Arts (Sculpture) College of Art, New Delhi Among his selected solo exhibitions are ‘Voice of Violence', The Stainless Gallery; The Mint, New Delhi (2008); ‘Shadow Lives’, The Mint, New Delhi (2008); Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi (2006, 03) He has participated in various group shows and camps He has received the BC Sanyal Award from the College of Art, New Delhi (2001), and the 12th Yuva Mahotsava Award from the Sahitya Kala Parishad (2003) ‘Voice of Violence’, the artist’s latest series of work, tackles the threat of terror The works explore today’s culture of violence from all possible anglesThe talented and sensitive artist looks at life from the perspective of the dispossessed, projecting them as heroic, albeit tragic beings The pledge of evenly shared prosperity, made at the birth of the modern period, still remains elusive as everyone hankers after a piece of the pie, and covets what others have as well Pointing to the bitter reality, his creations revolve around the themes of corruption, gluttony and oppression
