Shaikh Yousuf Ali was born in the year 1939 in Goa, India He completed his Diploma is Painting from Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai in 1964 Following his art education he took to Advertising and held the position of an Art Director with a reputed agency S Yousuf Ali had mastered the nuance of depicting the human anatomy and often rendered his protagonists with a voluptuous formation He had developed his proficiency in rendering lines and colour composition, even while using different mediums he maintained his signature style that was based and hinted at Cubism He constantly enhanced the appearance of his figures and instilled his works with a sense of contemplative revelry S Yousuf Ali held more than 11 Solo Shows both in India and overseas Solo shows took place at The Taj Art Gallery, and also several shows in UAE including the one at Al Falaj Hotel, Oman in 1985 The artist passed away in the year 1997
