Samit Das
(b1970)Samit Das completed his BFA and MFA from Kala Bhavan, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan in 1994 and 1996 respectively, before he went to London for an associate students PG program The artist received the Charles Wallace Scholarship in 2002 and undertook the project - book as an architectural space in context of human existenceAmong his prominent exhibits and projects are ‘Memory lanes in metropolis’ at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi (2007), ‘Looking back through looking forward’ at Apparao Infinity Gallery, Taj Connemara, and `Bricks without full stops` (a project on the changing urban landscape) at Bombay Art Gallery in 2005 Apart from participating in various prestigious group shows in India and internationally, he has featured in Kala Ghoda Art Festival, Mumbai in 2005 & 2006 The artist has received national scholarship (1996-1998) and junior fellowship from Government of India in 1998-2000 Samit Das lives and works in New Delhi
