Shobha Broota was born in the year 1943 in Delhi The very year she completed her Diploma in Fine Arts from the College of Art, Delhi (1964) she was appointed as a teacher in the art department of her Alma Mater Her synthesis of art occurs with a much larger scale of perception, considering she has not only mastered the visual aspect, but is a trained classical singer from Sangeet Visharad in DelhiConsistent exploration has been a cornerstone of her practise, the artist has dabbled with multiple mediums and themes, ranging from Realism, to relief work to works based on spirituality She has time and again resisted confinement in terms of style and has successfully created imagery which entrance the viewers owing to their deft execution Works inspired by spirituality have a heightened degree of hypnotic illusionary, observing the artworks propel the viewers to get transported to space of self- awarenessShobha Broota continues to teach at Triveni Kala Sangam and lives in Delhi
