Shraddha More is a celebrated contemporary Indian artist born in 1997 and based in Mumbai. Renowned for her masterful palette knife strokes and vibrant, natural settings, she paints India’s diverse landscapes in beautiful, pleasing colours. Her artistic endeavour is rooted in a strong academic foundation with a B.F.A from the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai in 2012 followed by a Diploma in Art Education from Kalasagar Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune in 2013; complete finally with an M.F.A. from Jalgaon College in 2015. Her career is resplendent with several awards namely: a First Prize in the 2008 edition of ‘Monsoon’ at the Sir J.J. School of Art, with a Third Prize at the State Landscape Awards in the same year, followed by Sir J.J. School of Art’s Mayo Memorial Award and Third Prize in the Art Debate at Mumbai University in 2009; and the Mayo Memorial Award by the Sir J.J. School of Arts in 2010 again. Additionally, her paintings have held audiences in various exhibitions across the country including: Hirji Jehangir Art Gallery in 2017, the India Art exhibitions in both Mumbai and New Delhi in 2017, 2018 and 2019; the Affordable Art Fair, Singapore; and Artexpo New York in 2019, The Oberoi, Gurgaon; a group show at Jehangir Art Gallery, and the Indian Art Festival, Bengaluru in 2022; ACE - Nesco, and Painted Rhythm Art Gallery in 2023; coupled with multiple exhibitions at AstaGuru itself. Her evocative use of colour to create the most tranquil and immersive images, especially those like her ‘Khevan Haar’ and ‘Lotus Pond’ paintings, underscores her artistic prowess and rich imagination.
