Suhasini Kejriwal
Born in 1973, talented contemporary artist Suhasini Kejriwal received her BFA from Parsons School of Design, New York in 1998 followed by a Post-graduate Diploma from Goldsmith's College, London University in 1999 She then completed her MFA from Goldsmith's College, London University in 2006 A multimedia artist, her works are a synthesis of drawing, painting, photography and collage making, creating impressive works that create conversation Her series range from those exploring tropical flora and fauna to the urban landscape filled with its own economies and individuals There is great attention to detail in her compositions that are replete with information She utilises the scenes she witnesses as the launchpad for her excavations as she explores the reactions these scenes garner from her as an artist, and her audience
Her solo exhibitions include Gallery SKE, Bangalore in 2004; Nature Morte, New Delhi in 2005, 2007, 2014 and 2020; Chemould Prescott Road, Mumbai in 2008; Anokhi Museum, Jaipur in 2009 and Galerie Christian Hosp, Berlin in 2010 among others She completed a fellowship with Hamdasti, a collective that facilitates dialogue and collaboration between artists and communities Additionally, she was also a visiting fellow at the South Asia Institute at Harvard University in 2020
