Surya Prakash (1940–2019) was an Indian painter born in Madhira, in present-day Telangana, and widely regarded as one of the key figures of the Hyderabad art scene. He studied painting in Hyderabad and later trained under Ram Kumar in New Delhi. Over the years, he became known for his sustained engagement with landscape as a subject, translating the visual rhythms of nature into a distinct painterly language.

Working primarily in oil and acrylic, Surya Prakash created luminous, semi-abstract compositions inspired by forests, rivers, mountains, sky, and seasonal change. His paintings balance observation and abstraction, and are often associated with a sensitivity to colour, atmosphere, and the changing moods of nature.
