Born in Trichur, Kerala, TM Azis did his BFA from College of fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram in 1987, and MF from Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi in 1991The artist has been showcasing his works in select group exhibits over last decade or so His select solos shows have been held at Fine Arts College Gallery, Thiruvananthapuram (1986), Chitra Kala Parishat, Bangalore (1986), Allianse de Francaise, Pondichery (1986), Crimson, Bangalore (1994, 1997, 1998), and Nehru Art Centre, Mumbai (1999) He has also participated in several prestigious group shows apart from select participations internationally Among the awards and honors he has won are 12th All India Exhibition of Art, Bangalore (1989), Regional Art Exhibition, Chennai (1992), and 25th State Exhibition of Art,Kerala Lalit Kala Akademi (1993) Primarily a painter, he has compiled a prolific collection of photographs snapped during the collaborative projects with fellow artists T M Azis presently lives and works in Bangalore
