The contemporary Indian Artist Umesh Unni was born in the year 1984 He completed his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts in Trivandrum and his Master’s in Fine Arts from the Hyderabad Central University Unni’s work is riddled with vivid imagery They are completely open to multiple interpretations and look to depict certain emotions rather than anything concrete existing in the exterior material world For him, painting serves as a way to escape the rampant violence and death present in this worldHe has had several exhibitions including ‘The July Show’ at the Guild, Mumbai in 2008; ‘Double’ at the OED gallery, Cochin in 2007 and the State exhibition of the Kerala Lalit Kala Academy in 2006 to name a few
