Vipeksha Gupta
Born in 1989, in New Delhi, Vipeksha Gupta is a drawing-based visual artist She studied BA (History) at Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, India in 2010; and further studied and worked as an artist at the community studios at Triveni Kala Sangam till 2017, New Delhi
Richard Serra, Barnett Newman, and Josef Albers, the mysticism of India and the Far East influenced the artist deeply at a young age Her artwork represents her and her sensibilities of the world around us; imbued with their own individual illumination showcasing the true nature of reality She has experimented with various pictorial mediums like geometric Modernism, abstract expressionism, minimalism, and suprematism; the abstract art form became her preferred way of expression She utilises graphite, charcoal, and pigments to create her works and invites the viewer to introspect their own thoughts and feelings through her works
Vipeksha has participated in numerous exhibitions including Delhi Contemporary Art Week, Blueprint12; India Habitat Centre New Delhi, India (2018), 'In Landscape Mode' group show, Galerie ISA, Mumbai, India (2022); Red at the Bone, Delhi Contemporary Art Week (2023) amongst others Her solo exhibitions include Oscillations, Blueprint12, New Delhi, India (2021); Bawwaba, Art Dubai 2022, Blueprint12, Dubai, UAE (2022); Transience, Blueprint12, Bikaner House, New Delhi, India (2023) She has received many awards including the Drawing Award at the Annual Art Exhibition by the Sahitya Kala Parishad, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, India (2016-2017)
